Core Values

Quality

Each item is premium quality, stunningly decorated and delectable. Chef Hwang and his team take pride in the time, skill, and details they put into all of the baked goods.

Integrity

Honest, authentic taste in every Wow Bakery item stems from Chef Hwang's motivation to be a top baker. This wholeness ensures each product is efficiently made, and further admired by those who experience it.

Dedication

Hard work and attention to detail are passionately poured into each product. Chef Hwang delicately crafts the baked goods with the same devotion he would as if he’s baking for his family.

Bakery

Brioche

The popular French pastry, brioche, gets its richness from both high egg content and butter. In fact, 30% of brioche is made up of butter, which gives it the savoury flavour and golden brown crust. Some of the favourite varieties of brioche offered at Wow Bakery include coconut, walnut, and Yuzu/orange

Mochi

Mochi is a classic Japanese rice cake made from sweet rice dough with a delicious filling. This playful dessert is soft and chewy from the simple combination of rice flour, sugar, and water. In Japanese culture, Mochi is a symbol of good fortune. Add a little luck to your day with one of WOW Bakery’s top Mochi flavours: cream cheese, Matcha, milk cream, or blueberry.

Danish Pastry

Why are Danish pastries so delicious? The secret is lots of butter, which creates that perfect texture you’ll find in Wow Bakery’s Danish pastries. This product is creatively twisted into flaky treats that will literally melt in your mouth.

Levain

Levain is the French term for yeast - the starter used in this particular type of bread. The longer the fermentation process, the more sourness the bread will have. You’ll knead to try this from WOW Bakery!

Meet The Head Chef

Chef Kyung Yeon Hwang is the mastermind and creative talent behind Wow Bakery. Originally from Korea, chef Hwang has been baking from a young age and was taught the values of hard work early in his career.
He has fond memories of frying walnuts over the stove and is reminiscent on how excited he would get creating the toasted cake topper.

This prominent baking experience engrained both passion and dedication into Chef Hwang. He proudly lives everyday by the Korean proverb, “Hard work does not betray you.” This perspective has lead to many opportunities for Chef Hwang over his 20-year culinary career.

He has represented world-renowned international hotels such as Hyatt, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts, and the famous Korean hotel, The Westin Chosun Seoul. Always learning from his mentors and meticulously striving for perfection, Chef Hwang's baking has matured from interest to profession. Wow Bakery showcases the years of hard work he has put into the art of baking, with each item telling a different story.

One of Chef Hwang's favourite menu items is the French classic, croissant, particularly the chocolate ones. He says chocolate adds a delicate sweetness, while not overwhelming the pastry with sugar.
