This delightful Korean dessert is a mixture of shaved ice with sweet toppings of your
choice - usually red beans or fruit. Bingsu is carefully and elaborately prepared by
scooping fine, snowy ice into a dish then adding syrup, fruit, condensed milk, or all
of the above on top!
It has gained popularity across the world because it can be so versatile for everyone.
Although the basis is shaved ice, you can put any of your favourite sweet treats on
top. Some versions of bingsu across the world have been brownie, cheesecake, black
seseme, Oreo, peanut, raisin, and chocolate.
Since the possible combinations are endless, our Chefs at WOW Bakery have let
their creativity flow. From different textures to spectrums of flavour, Bingsu is a
playful and experimental dessert that everyone is able to connect to.
We currently have four options of Bingsu: Red Bean (Patbingsu), Green Tea, Mango,
and Strawberry. The Red Bean option is made with a traditional sweetened red bean
paste, which is how the dessert was first enjoyed.
We love our green tea at WOW Bakery, from our Matcha croissants and macrons, to
green tea chiffon cakes. So, of course we’re going to create a Green Tea Bingsu also
with red bean paste and two other forms of green tea: powdered and syrup.
The Mango Bingsu looks like summer in a bowl – bright yellow in colour and full of
life. This order is topped with juicy, ripe chunks of mango, which adds a natural
sweetness excellent for this Korean treat. If you prefer berries, you’ll love our
radiant Strawberry Bingsu that’s garnished with fresh cut strawberries.
The Bingsu at WOW Bakery is great to share, but why would you?
Enjoy it in store before it melts or someone else tries to eat it!
